DIY Summer Beauty Products You Can Make in Your Kitchen | Video

Get that glowy, sun-kissed, effortless Summer look with these three beauty "recipes" you can whip up in your kitchen. Essential oils optional!

1. Beach Waves

Nothing completes an easy summer look like beach waves. There are so many ways to create them, from curling irons to flat irons to sleeping in braids. I've found, though, that the most effortless option is actually the best -- especially when it's so hot your hair will most likely wind up in a messy bun on top of your head at some point, anyway.

I have curly hair and, growing up in Florida, I always loved the look of it the most after spending the day in the beach. When I can't get home to bottle up some ocean water (seriously), I mix up this homemade sea salt spray and it's the next best thing.

I create beach waves by allowing my hair to air dry almost completely, then practically re-wetting it with sea salt spray. This works great for day 2 or 3 hair, too. Just wet it down again by spraying sea salt spray and start over!

2-Ingredient Sea Salt Spray

8 oz warm water

2 Tbsp sea salt

Add both to a spray bottle and shake!

Optional add-ins:

10 drops Bergamot or lavender essential oil

Argan oil for shine (make sure you shake the spray up really well before using if you add this)

2. Coffee Scrub

If you're a sunless tanning junkie like me, exfoliation is key in the summer. It makes your tan go on more evenly and actually last longer. But if you don't take your tan into your own hands -- first of all, we need to talk -- but second of all, bare legs, tummies, and arms still look their best after a great scrub. This coffee scrub is invigorating and refining, scrubbing away any blemishes and increasing blood flow to problem areas to actually reduce the appearance of cellulite!

In the shower, I concentrate on my tummy (for stretch marks after kids), bum, backs of arms, and upper legs. I massage the coffee scrub into those areas pretty vigorously, It's actually been proven that frequent massage can help to break up cellulite!

About every 2 weeks or so, I make a batch of this scrub, using the leftover coffee grinds from our morning brew. I store it in a mason jar and keep it in the shower.

Coffee Body Scrub

1/2 C coffee grinds (can be dry or leftover from your morning coffee)

1/2 C sugar

1 tsp Ground clove

1 tsp Ground cinnamon

1/4 C Virgin coconut oil

Add the coffee, sugar, clove and cinnamon to a bowl and mix well. Add 2 Tbsp coconut oil and mix together. Keep adding coconut oil, if necessary, 1 Tbsp at a time, to create a dry paste.

3. Body Bronzer

Glowing, tan skin is obviously a priority in the summer, and why not smell amazing while you're at it? I've been using store-bought spray bronzing oil for years but have gradually been transitioning all the products I use over to more natural options. So, when I ran out of that store-bought oil, I decided to try to make my own. This recipe is surprising, but I promise it works! And you smell like dessert after you use it. Who wouldn't want that?

Homemade Body Bronzer

1/4 C Virgin coconut oil

1 tsp Cocoa or cacao powder

1 tsp Ground cinnamon

Optional add-ins: 1 tsp Liquid highlighter or illuminating cream, for shimmer (I think it's totally worth it to buy an inexpensive liquid highlighter like this one for $4)

6 drops Peppermint or Bergamot essential oil
