Here we are, finally on the other side of Labor Day, which means it's no longer socially inappropriate to start Pumpkin Spicing everything in our paths.
Once the kids go back to school, Summer really does feel like it's already coming to a close, so I start getting excited about pumpkins and nutmeg and cozy coffee drinks way before Fall actually rolls around. One of my favorite ways to transition gracefully is with autumnal smoothies. They're still cold and refreshing for breakfast, and of course they're one of the healthiest ways to start the day... but they give you all the flavors you crave in those Fall treats.
This week, I'm highlighting my three absolute favorite Fall smoothies so that hopefully we can curb our PSL cravings a little while longer 😉 Bonus, they're all made with easy-to-find ingredients that you can even pick up at Aldi!
While you're at it, grab my I Heart Aldi | Ultimate Smoothie Builder, which is the freebie I created for this post! CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD your printable quick-reference smoothie guide, featuring an all-Aldi-friendly ingredient list (including superfoods!) It'll walk you step-by-step through creating a healthy smoothie, including measurements, flavor upgrades and superfood boosts!
If you've ever thought superfoods are too expensive or hard to find to incorporate them into your morning smoothie game, think again! I've got you covered with all the Aldi ingredients you'll ever need to make a delicious smoothie, and a plan for how to throw together a nutrient rich smoothie with any kind of flavor profile you could possibly want.

What I love about this spiced apple smoothie is that the spice isn't an overly sweet apple pie flavor... kale naturally has a little bit of a bite to it, which balanced out the unfiltered apple juice perfectly. The whole thing gets kicked up another notch by ginger, reminding us of Fall, but with an earthy "green" flavor that still feels light!

Spiced Green Apple Smoothie
Ingredients
2 Handfuls chopped organic kale
1 Cup Unfiltered apple juice (or substitute one peeled and chopped Honeycrisp apple + 3/4 Cup coconut water)
1 Frozen banana
1 Tsp Ground ginger
2 Tbsp No-sugar added sunflower seed butter (or almond butter)
1 Handful ice (optional)
Directions
Add all of the ingredients to a high-powered blender except for the ice, and whir away. Add in the ice and blend again until frothy!
