Let's talk about being on the news for a second.
It's not a big deal. Like, it's REALLLLY not a big deal. But it still feels extremely special every time I'm asked, and I will say yes every time I'm asked simply because of that.
I've been invited a few times to teach some fun little tip on our local mid-day Lifestyles show. Most recently, I was invited to do some kind of Valentine's craft. This superfood bark is where I ended up!
But back to being on the news. I probably don't give myself enough credit for being somewhat okay on camera. Because first of all, I never know where the camera is, so I constantly look around trying to find it (to no avail) and end up looking like I'm just staring into space.
I'm always dissecting my laugh. Was it too much? Did I over-emote because I was nervous?
Did I interrupt the host?
Oh, God, I hope I didn't interrupt her.
I DID!
Ugh, I've got to be better about that.
Actually, what if I'm just the type of person that interrupts all the time and I only just realized it because I'm watching myself on video?
Good Lord.
This is the stream of consciousness that follows every segment. But, like I said, I'll do it again every time I'm asked because dammit it makes me feel special.

Dark Chocolate Superfood Bark Ingredients: 2 Bars dark chocolate - 60% Cacao or higher Sea salt Pistachios or other nuts, chopped Gogi berries Dried edible flowers - lavender, hibiscus, etc. Directions: 1. Chop the chocolate into small pieces and add to a microwave-safe bowl. 2. Heat in the microwave on regular heat for 30 seconds. Stir, then heat another 15 seconds. Continue in 15 second intervals, stirring in between, until all the chocolate is melted. 3. Line a baking sheet or glass pan with parchment paper. You can use a little dab of melted chocolate on the corners of the paper to keep it from curling up. 4. Pour the melted chocolate onto the parchment paper and spread it into about a 3/8 inch thick layer using a rubber spatula. 5. While the chocolate is still warm, sprinkle the the gogi berries, nuts, sea salt, and edible flowers on top to create an evenly distributed mixture of textures, colors, and flavors. 6. Refrigerate until solidified, 2-4 hours or over night. 7. Break the cooled bark into organically shaped pieces, and package 2-3 pieces as a gift. Want a walk-through of the whole project? Here's the video of my segment on Lifestyles, where I break it all down. Now, all you gotta do is grab some fun packaging supplies (or, if you're like me, get lost in the Target $1 spot) and make a cute Valentine out of it! Don't put too much pressure on yourself... this should be easy!
